The New York Yankees have signed former New York Mets' outfielder, Chris Young to a minor league contract. Young signed a one-year $7.25 million dollar contract this offseason, but with his poor performance on the field was let go by the Mets. This season Young was only hitting .205 with eight homeruns for the Mets. He may be able to join the Yankees' major league roster during the September call-ups, and provide the Yankees with some insurance in case of more injuries to their outfield.
