The Stanley Cup Final between the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings has began.

On Jun 4 2014, I brought my camera to 515 Old Dock Rd, Kings Park, NY, "Shanahans Bar & Grill," for their weekly wing night - where $15 buys you unlimited wings, and beer, from 8:30-10:30.

The Rangers started the contest as first year head coach Alain Vigneault had hoped, pulling together a 2-0 lead in the first. But LA forward Kyle Clifford cut New York's lead in half with 2:27 remaining, chipping the puck over Henrik Lundqvist blocker.

Later in the second, LA defenseman Drew Doughty dazzled the crowd, pulling the puck between his legs past forward Derek Dorsett. Doughty would chip the puck past Lundqvist on the short side for the dangle, snipe, celly combination with 13:24 remaining in the period.

The Kings carried the momentum into the third and outshot the Blueshirts 20-3, but couldn't end the game in regulation.

4:36 into overtime, however, Justin Williams sniped the puck past Lundqvist's blocker after a Dan Girardi giveaway due to a bouncing puck.

The final score: 3-2.

AV was less than thrilled after New York's third period effort. "Nothing short of our 'A' game will do against the Kings," he said. "Our team needs to play 60 minutes of hockey."

Hopefully, the Rangers will follow his advice.

Next game is set for Sat, June 7 at 7 p.m.
